Professor Bernard Luk passed away on March 23 after suffering from a stroke in Canada, at the age of 70. Professor Luk earned his BA in History from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1969; and his PhD in History from Indiana University in 1977. After immigrating to Canada, he taught in the History Department, York University, since 1991. He had also taught in Faculty of Education, Chinese University of Hong Kong for 12 years and was Vice-President of Hong Kong Institute of Education from 2003 to 2007. In 2008, he was invited to be the keynote speaker for the 4th Pommerenke Talk about the Christianity and Chinese Culture on the topic “What Price My Soul? Global Capitalism, Education and Spirituality”.
