Is our Christian God exclusively “Male”? Can we image our God as “female”? Or, any other imaginations? If we do not use “Him” to name our God, do we worship idol?
A feminist theologian Rosemary Radford Ruether said in her book Sexism and God-talk, “The liberating encounter with God/ess is always an encounter with our authentic selves resurrected from underneath the alienated self…Intimations of Her/His name will appear as we emerge from false naming of God/ess modeled on patriarchal alienation.” A group of Divinity School of Chung Chi College students display their understanding of God’s image in the coming exhibition “Re-presentation of God’s Image”, you are welcome to know, to participate in and to imagine with us:
