本科學習希伯來文聖經/舊約中的智慧文學類型，包括約伯記、箴言、傳道書、便西拉智訓（《德訓篇》）和所羅門智訓，以及一些先知文學中的智慧篇章和詩篇。本科學習這些書卷中的「智慧」的概念以及它們與其他希伯來聖經/舊約書卷的區別和關聯。同時，本科也考量智慧文學與古代近東訓誨文學的關係。
